Katy's surgery with her wrist went well yesterday. We were there for a few hours though the procedure was only about 20 minutes. It was the gearing up and gearing down from all of the medication so she didn't feel them busting her wrist open.
So, she's got a bandage on it for five days and can't get it wet. We'll see how she adjusts to not much use of her hand and fingers for a few days!
We got home and I went to work and she took the evening to hang out with Josh and Laura and Bob and Deb.
I had today off so after I ran this morning we went to a matinee of Iron Man 2, after watching the first one last weekend and then we went to Old Chicago for a salad for lunch.

Twin Cities 1 Mile 2010
I didn't get enough running in before this year's Twin Cities 1 Miler downtown Minneapolis. I set out a goal a couple months ago to get going and run a 4:40-4:45 for the 1 mile race.
I just didn't get going enough. I ran more miles this year than last year, but not too much more. A little trip to Branson, Missouri cost me some training/running time as did alot of laziness. Some days I just couldn't get out of bed and get going or get going after work when it's already 6:30 and I'm starving.
Ah well...I still ran it and again it was a great event. I turned in a 5:18. I thought it would have been a little faster as I thought I crossed with the clock at 5:13-5:14 but I guess the clock wasn't quite timed correctly.
I ran a bit fast through 400 meters but felt comfortable. From the 400 meter mark to the 800 meter mark seemed like a long time but I came through in 2:35ish. I just kept motoring along and stayed pretty comfortable smiling a couple times and enjoying the run for the live broadcast camera that drove by me between the 400m mark and the 800m mark.
With a few hundred meters left I saw Nick and Becca on the right side of the street and heard "Disch!" I enjoyed that and picked it up and finished strong, though I could have finished stronger but there was a bit if a race going on in front of me that I was content on watching two guys go at it trying to place one spot better. No one was behind me to get me so I just enjoyed watching their race.
I met up with Katy and Nick and Becca after the race. We stuck around, as we should have, to watch Anna Willard and David Torrence win the USATF 1 Mile Road Championships.
All in all, it was good to run and feel good. Now, to get going with miles for my half marathon on July 4th! Twin Cities Red, White and Boom!
My results.

Minor's Wedding & Branson, Missouri
Last weekend Katy and I were coming back from Branson, Missouri and Chris and Lauren's wedding.
We drove down with Paul, Lance, Jon, Justin, Nick and Becca. We left the cities Thursday morning and drove to Kansas City where we found our nice hotel that Nick found and got ourselves some Jack Stack BBQ! I got a sampler platter of a polish sausage, a beef, lamb and pork rib and enjoyed a side of baked beans. It was a goal of mine to get to a legitimate BBQ place in KC while we were there. We did and I think it was enjoyable!
We then drove to Branson on Friday morning and arrived around noon. We drove right to a softball game that Chris had with a bunch of guys! It turned out to be quite the fun afternoon of softball, hot dogs, chips, catch and meeting Chris' friends from Missouri, Kamp Kanakuk and all over!
Chris, BJ, Lance, Joel, Brad, Brad, Jimmy, Jon, Sam, Jon, Chris, Justin, Chris, Jake (l-r)
Chris with a rip to the outfield.
Looks like it was an inside-the-park home run. Like little league, must have been on errors or missing the cut off man.
Nick Jones connects and dashes off to first.
Nick rounding third in another situation.
That's me, starting off the game as always in a state of confusion. Am I right handed or left handed? I think this was my first AB, an opposite field slap in the gap.
Turning on the track speed to make an effort to get to third base.
Here I come! Did I use the right foot rounding second base?
See, here is my right handed version. I think this one was a weak pop up.
We then proceeded to the church to rehearse and the rehearsal dinner.
And then on to the after party with the guys!
Unfortunately, that's all I can show you. It was a fun night.
This was Saturday morning/early afternoon. We met Nick and Becca at The Landing. It's a riverfront shopping center just a couple blocks from downtown Branson. It was a new nice set of buildings and was sunny enough to enjoy a couple hours outside.
Chris and Lauren making their exit...
...and now their entrance to the reception.
Nick Jones having a blast!
Unfortunately, Chris was having more of a blast!
Maybe I was too. I don't know what this means.
She's beautiful!
Bethel roommates, doing "the Chris." (That means holding up your pointer finger in ALL photos.)
