Date Night
Katy and I stayed at home recently. Katy made chicken curry with white rice, bananas, raisins and cashews. It was delicious. And I made her put on a blazer because I played dress up with some new threads-the vest.
Here is another version of The Sartorialist.
Just picked up a vest from Herb's and found it nicely paired with my J. Crew purple and gray plaid button down shirt and my DKNY charcoal and purple stripe tie.
Tied with a pair of medium wash denim and some nice chukka's (Timberland) then you've got a sort of rugged polished look.
Great for a cold winter day where dress shoes would be too cold or great for a walk through a little bit of slush. The quilted back of the vest (sorry can't see it) and the skinny tie-well-and the more casual woven makes it a dressy casual trendy look.
Oh yes, and throw in the nice charcoalish striped blazer and you've got yourself a warmer look. I wish I tied in a pair of dark brown gloves and scarf in the picture but after all I was inside and not thinking about that.
Option #1
Option #2
Option #3
Option #4
Which one is the best?
Worn casually.
Blazer, vest, shirt and tie.
Charcoal blazer and gray and purple plaid woven.
Timberland Chukka's. Great buy this December! $57 bucks down from $120
Jos A. Bank Story
To the point.
Katy's parents bought me a Bank's cashmere sweater for Christmas. Though they bought me a great color (dark charcoal) and a great fabric (cashmere) and a great style (v-neck) I'm much too thin for the cut of their sweaters. They bought me a large, and a medium was much too baggy on the ribs.
Not knowing how much they paid for it at Banks, I returned without a receipt knowing I'd have less to exchange for it. They ran a crazy promotion of buy one thing, get two free before Christmas so I was quite unsure of how I'd get anything if that was the case.
But they took it back and the assistant store manager said I'd have about 99$ to work with. I thought that was fine-I'd get a couple of their tailored dress shirts. So-I did! In fact I was able to get three out of the deal because when I went they were having a buy one get one half off sale. And the kind assistant manager took care of the third. But what a deal!
Original on the cashmere was $295. The dress shirts were $79.50 each.
$79.50 x 3 = $238.50
So, all in all I got my money's worth back-three dress shirts-all $79.50 totaling $137.50 with their promo going on when I went in.
Sorry, pretty much blues here. But, spread collar french cuffed blue pinstripe. White solid with double pinstripe, also spread collar.
#3 is a grayish pinstripe-and yes, spread collar! Nothing is better!

i like option 1 with 4 in second. and i love the shoes! you look very handsome. :) i liked the full facial hair before you mohawked it! :)
I like the vest. Eric has been wearing new outfits every day and it's been GREAT! The only problem is I shrunk three of his shirts. I'm an idiot when it comes to washing. an idiot. So I took pictures and can you find something similar (cheap) at herbs? I like dressing up for date night at home. Very cute. And again we were SO glad to have you and Kety come visit. We are really excited for you to come back! or move to Milwaukee. :)
Thanks!
Glad you've used his new outfits. And just wash his stuff on cold. Everything-all the time. Except underwear-that can be warm.
What did you want me to find for him at Herbs?
